This lesson we will learn some what I call soft finger style or kind of a classical finger style. You often hear this style in slower songs or ballads. Slower finger style can create really beautiful and interesting rhythm patterns as well.  Here we will learn a piece from a song I wrote called Losing You (song in main video) where I used a lot of soft finger style. Practice track to this solo is under Jam Tracks in Members section.

When first learning most guitarist start with a pick and use it for most of their rhythm patterns while playing chords. Adding fingers style patterns while playing chords can really bring new life, especially in slower tempo songs. Here is an example of a pick finger rhythm pattern over some simple chords. It is four 1/8 notes down and four up on each chord. It is the same chord progression but changes pick patterns throughout also adding some melody through a few bars.
